Was a buzz word generator used to arrive at this prime example of unintelligible synod-speak? What I would need to understand this arcane terminology are some concrete examples of what this would look like in a real-life parish setting. An appendix of these multisyllabic logorrheic sentences would be very helpful to the folks in the pews each Sunday..

I agree that the language of synodality, like the word itself, is challenging and difficult. I also think that this reflection does an excellent job of recovering and discovering meaningful roles for lay folks to sing and dance about. And, yes, new mechanisms are badly needed, new wineskins, so to speak, but the focus on communion, participation & mission, is the the non-jargon, heart of synodality, as it is of the Gospel and of the life, death & resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Communion, Participation & Mission

Whatever we do to increase these realities in our lives, lay and non-lay alike, builds the Kingdom of the People of God!
